Brattleboro Food Co-op Focus & Co-op Power PDF Print E-mail

Creating a sustainable and just energy future!
The Brattleboro Food Co-op partnered with Co-op Power of Southern Vermont to build a 30.4 kW solar electric system on the roof of our food Co-op. Our food Co-op is leasing the 120-panel system from Co-op Power and uses the electricity to power our store.  Co-op Power secured a loan from Equity Trust to do the construction.

They are signing on new Co-op Power members and new Co-op Powermember loans to buy down the construction loan.  We're hoping many of our members will take advantage of this opportunity to join the energy cooperative in our community! The Brattleboro Food Co-op is planning to purchase the system back from Co-op Power after five years. This is just the beginning. Co-op Power’s goal is to provide affordable, net-metered solar electricity to families across southern Vermont and good solar installation jobs for people in our region.
